Editorial Workflow
The editorial workflow of International Journal of Health, Economics, and Social Science (IJHESS) is designed to ensure a transparent, efficient, and high-quality publication process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a rigorous editorial assessment, double-blind peer review, and production process before publication, following internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the online submission system following the Author Guidelines and manuscript template. All required metadata and supporting documents must be completed before submission.
2. Initial Editorial Assessment
The editorial office evaluates whether the manuscript:
- Fits the journal's focus and scope.
- Complies with formatting and writing standards.
- Demonstrates adequate academic quality.
- Meets publication ethics requirements.
3. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality and compliance with academic integrity standards. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels may be rejected.
4. Assignment to Section Editor
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to an Editor or Section Editor with expertise relevant to the submitted topic to coordinate the review process.
5. Double-Blind Peer Review
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers assess:
- Originality and novelty
- Scientific contribution
- Research methodology
- Quality of analysis
- Clarity of presentation
- Reference quality
- Ethical compliance
Reviewer recommendations:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
6. Editorial Decision
The handling editor evaluates reviewer recommendations and communicates one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
7. Author Revision
Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewer comments and submit a detailed response letter. Revised manuscripts may undergo an additional review when necessary.
8. Final Acceptance
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after confirming that all scientific, editorial, and ethical requirements have been satisfactorily fulfilled.
9. Copyediting and Layout Editing
Accepted manuscripts proceed to:
- Language editing
- Copyediting
- Reference verification
- Layout and typesetting
10. Proofreading
The final proof is sent to authors for verification and approval before publication. Only minor typographical corrections are permitted at this stage.
11. Publication
The approved article is published online in the scheduled issue and assigned complete bibliographic information to ensure discoverability and citation.
12. Indexing and Archiving
Published articles are archived and indexed in appropriate scholarly databases and preservation systems to ensure long-term accessibility, visibility, and academic impact.
