The editorial workflow of International Journal of Health, Economics, and Social Science (IJHESS) is designed to ensure a transparent, efficient, and high-quality publication process. Every submitted manuscript undergoes several stages of evaluation and review before publication.
The editorial workflow consists of the following steps:
Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system in accordance with the author guidelines and manuscript template provided by IJHESS. Submitted manuscripts must be complete and include all required metadata and supporting documents.
The editorial team conducts a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the manuscript:
Fits the journal focus and scope
Meets formatting and writing standards
Demonstrates sufficient academic quality
Complies with ethical and plagiarism policies
At this stage, manuscripts may be:
Accepted for peer review
Returned to authors for technical revision
Rejected due to mismatch with journal standards or scope
All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality and academic integrity. Manuscripts with significant plagiarism or unethical similarities will be rejected.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an editor or section editor with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. The editor manages the review process and communication with reviewers and authors.
The assigned editor sends the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind review process, where the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
Originality and novelty
Research methodology
Scientific contribution
Clarity of presentation
Validity of analysis and conclusions
Relevance of references
Ethical standards
Reviewer recommendations may include:
Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject
Based on reviewer comments and recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
Accepted without revision
Accepted with minor revisions
Accepted with major revisions
Rejected
The decision and reviewer comments are communicated to the authors.
Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewer and editor suggestions within the specified revision period. Revised manuscripts must include a response to reviewer comments.
If necessary, revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation.
After the manuscript satisfies all academic and editorial requirements, the Editor-in-Chief issues the final acceptance decision.
Accepted manuscripts undergo:
Language editing
Copyediting
Reference checking
Layout and formatting preparation
This stage ensures consistency, readability, and publication quality.
The final proof version is sent to authors for final checking and approval before publication. Authors are responsible for reviewing typographical or minor editorial errors at this stage.
The finalized article is published online in the scheduled issue of IJHESS and made accessible to readers through the journal platform.
Published articles are archived and indexed to enhance visibility, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly works.
The editorial workflow of IJHESS reflects the journal’s commitment to academic excellence, transparency, ethical publishing practices, and international publication standards.
