International Journal of Health, Economics, and Social Science (IJHESS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes the importance of correcting errors and addressing ethical concerns in published articles in a transparent and responsible manner.
This policy outlines the procedures for corrections, retractions, and related editorial actions.
Corrections may be issued when a published article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings, conclusions, or integrity of the research but require clarification for readers.
Corrections may include:
Typographical errors affecting interpretation
Author name or affiliation errors
Errors in tables, figures, or references
Minor data inaccuracies
Formatting or publication mistakes
When necessary, the journal will publish a formal correction notice linked to the original article. The corrected version of the article may also be updated while preserving the publication record and transparency of changes.
Authors are encouraged to promptly inform the editorial office if significant errors are identified after publication.
Retraction is issued when a published article contains serious problems that invalidate the reliability, integrity, or ethical standing of the research.
Reasons for retraction may include:
Plagiarism
Duplicate publication
Fabricated or falsified data
Major methodological or analytical errors
Unethical research practices
Copyright infringement
Manipulation of the peer-review or publication process
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board and, when necessary, the publisher.
A retraction notice will:
Clearly identify the retracted article
State the reason for retraction
Remain permanently linked to the original article
Preserve the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record
Retracted articles may remain accessible online for record purposes but will be clearly marked as retracted.
In cases where serious concerns arise regarding a published article but conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern while an investigation is conducted.
This notice serves to inform readers about potential issues related to the publication.
Article removal may occur only under exceptional circumstances, such as:
Legal requirements or court orders
Defamation or privacy violations
Serious risks related to public safety
Copyright infringement requiring content removal
In such cases, bibliographic information about the article may remain available while the content itself is removed or restricted.
The editorial board of IJHESS is responsible for:
Investigating ethical concerns fairly and objectively
Communicating with authors and relevant parties
Following ethical publishing standards and publication ethics guidelines
Ensuring transparency and integrity in all editorial actions
The journal follows ethical principles adapted from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling corrections, retractions, and publication misconduct.
The publisher, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu, and the editorial board are committed to safeguarding the quality, credibility, and integrity of all publications in IJHESS.
