About the Journal Focus and Scope Article Types Author Guidelines

Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu, Indonesia.

The journal publishes scholarly research in public health, with particular emphasis on population health, health promotion, disease prevention, health policy, health systems, and related interdisciplinary areas.

MPPKI provides an academic platform for researchers, practitioners, educators, and policymakers to disseminate rigorous and ethically conducted research that contributes to public health knowledge, policy, education, and practice at local, national, and international levels.

1. Journal Focus

MPPKI publishes research that advances understanding of public health conditions, determinants, interventions, services, systems, and policies. The journal prioritizes studies with clear scientific relevance and practical implications for improving population health.

The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research that demonstrates methodological rigor, analytical depth, ethical compliance, and relevance to public health research, policy, education, or practice.

3. Peer Review

All submissions undergo initial editorial screening to assess completeness, relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and adherence to submission requirements.

Manuscripts that pass initial screening are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by independent reviewers with relevant subject or methodological expertise.

Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, originality, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Decisions are independent of authors’ identities, affiliations, nationality, status, or ability to pay the Article Processing Charge.

4. Publication Frequency

Since January 2022, MPPKI has been published monthly, with twelve issues released each year. Publication schedules may be adjusted when necessary to maintain editorial quality, technical accuracy, and publication integrity.

5. Open Access

MPPKI applies a full Open Access publishing model. Published articles are freely and permanently accessible to readers without subscription or access charges.

Open access supports wider dissemination, visibility, reuse, academic exchange, and public access to research findings.

6. Publication Ethics

MPPKI is committed to research integrity, transparent editorial procedures, responsible authorship, confidentiality, disclosure of conflicts of interest, plagiarism prevention, ethical research, and appropriate correction of the scholarly record.

Suspected research or publication misconduct is assessed fairly, confidentially, and proportionately in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics and related policies.
