Article Withdrawal Policy
Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the scholarly publication process. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts only after careful consideration and with the full agreement of all co-authors.
Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before the peer review process begins by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. The request must include the manuscript title, manuscript ID, corresponding author’s name, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors agree to the withdrawal.
Withdrawal During Peer Review or Editorial Evaluation
Withdrawal requests submitted after the manuscript has entered peer review or editorial evaluation will be carefully assessed by the editorial team. Authors must provide a clear and valid justification. Withdrawal at this stage is discouraged because editorial resources and reviewer time may already have been used.
The manuscript will not be considered formally withdrawn until the editorial office issues written confirmation of withdrawal.
Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged and will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, such as serious errors, ethical concerns, authorship disputes, or legal issues. Authors must submit a formal request signed or approved by all authors.
If the manuscript has already entered copyediting, layout, proofreading, or production, the journal reserves the right to consider any editorial or production work already completed when evaluating the request.
Withdrawal After Publication
Once an article has been published online or assigned to an issue, it cannot be withdrawn in the same manner as an unpublished manuscript. Any concerns after publication will be handled through appropriate post-publication mechanisms, including correction, expression of concern, or retraction, in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards.
Published articles will not be removed from the journal website except in exceptional legal, ethical, or safety-related circumstances. If retraction is necessary, the article will remain accessible with a clear retraction notice to preserve the scholarly record.
Unethical Withdrawal
Authors must not withdraw a manuscript for unethical reasons, including simultaneous submission to another journal, duplicate submission, attempts to avoid reviewer comments, or submission to another outlet after the manuscript has already undergone editorial or peer review processing.
If unethical withdrawal is identified, the editorial team may take appropriate actions, including notifying the authors’ institution, restricting future submissions, or recording the case for editorial ethics purposes.
Withdrawal Procedure
To request withdrawal, the corresponding author must submit a formal email to the editorial office including:
- Manuscript title
- Manuscript ID
- Names of all authors
- Reason for withdrawal
- Statement confirming that all authors agree to the withdrawal
- Signature or written approval of the corresponding author and, when required, all co-authors
The withdrawal request will be reviewed by the editorial team, and the decision will be communicated in writing.
Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) reserves the right to decline withdrawal requests that are incomplete, unethical, or submitted without the agreement of all authors.
