Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the scholarly publication process. Authors should submit a manuscript only after careful consideration and with the full agreement of every co-author.

Authors may request withdrawal before peer review begins by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. The request must include the manuscript title, manuscript ID, corresponding author’s name, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors agree to the withdrawal.

Requests submitted after a manuscript has entered peer review or editorial evaluation will be carefully assessed by the editorial team. Authors must provide a clear and valid justification. Withdrawal at this stage is discouraged because editorial resources and reviewer time may already have been used.

The manuscript is not considered formally withdrawn until the editorial office issues written confirmation.

Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged and will be considered only in exceptional circumstances, including serious errors, ethical concerns, authorship disputes, or legal issues. A formal request must be signed or otherwise approved in writing by all authors.

If the manuscript has entered copyediting, layout, proofreading, or production, the journal may consider the editorial and production work already completed when evaluating the request.

Once an article has been published online or assigned to an issue, it cannot be withdrawn in the same manner as an unpublished manuscript. Post-publication concerns will be addressed through the appropriate mechanism, including a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, in accordance with recognized publication-ethics standards.

Published articles will not be removed from the journal website except in exceptional legal, ethical, or safety-related circumstances. When retraction is required, the article will remain accessible with a clear retraction notice to preserve the integrity and traceability of the scholarly record.

Authors must not request withdrawal for unethical reasons, including simultaneous or duplicate submission, attempts to avoid responding to reviewer comments, or submission to another publication after the manuscript has undergone editorial or peer review processing.

When unethical withdrawal is substantiated following editorial review, the journal may take proportionate action. This may include notifying the authors’ institution, restricting future submissions for an appropriate period, or documenting the matter for editorial-ethics purposes.
