Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) supports research transparency and responsible data sharing to strengthen reproducibility, facilitate scholarly collaboration, and maximize the value of published research. Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their findings available whenever sharing is ethically, legally, and practically feasible.

Data Availability Statement

Every manuscript must include a Data Availability Statement explaining whether the data supporting the findings are available and how qualified users may access them.

Availability Status
State whether the data are publicly available, available on request, subject to controlled access, restricted, or not applicable.
Materials Covered
Identify the data, data dictionary, protocol, analytical code, instruments, or other supporting materials that are available.
Location
Provide the repository name, persistent identifier, accession number, stable URL, or responsible access contact.
Access Conditions
Describe any eligibility criteria, approval process, data-use agreement, permitted purpose, or other conditions.
Timing
State when the data become available, any approved embargo period, and the expected duration of availability where applicable.
Data Sharing Options
Public Repository
Preferred when ethical and legal conditions permit. Use a reputable repository that provides a persistent identifier or stable record.
Reasonable Request
May be used when public deposit is not suitable, provided that the statement identifies the access contact and relevant conditions.
Controlled Access
Appropriate for sensitive or restricted data when access requires ethical review, institutional approval, or a data-use agreement.
Restricted or Not Shareable
Permitted when a clear ethical, legal, contractual, privacy, security, or consent-based justification is provided.
Data Format and Documentation

Shared data should be prepared in commonly used, accessible formats and accompanied by documentation sufficient for responsible interpretation and reuse.

Ethical, Legal, and Privacy Requirements

Data sharing must comply with participant consent, ethical approval, privacy protections, confidentiality obligations, applicable laws, contractual commitments, and institutional requirements. Identifiable or sensitive data must not be made publicly available unless such disclosure is explicitly authorized and lawful.

Responsible restriction: When data cannot be shared openly, authors must explain the reason and describe whether de-identified, aggregated, or controlled access may be available. A restriction based only on author preference is not sufficient.

Embargo Requests
Authors may request a time-limited embargo by stating its proposed duration and providing a clear justification. The editorial team evaluates each request.
Policy Exceptions
Exceptions are assessed case by case when ethical, legal, contractual, privacy, consent, or security constraints prevent open sharing.

Reasonable request
The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to [applicable conditions].
Restricted or controlled access
The data are not publicly available because of [privacy, consent, legal, or contractual restriction]. Access may be considered through [access process or responsible body].
No new data
No new data were generated or analyzed for this study. Data sharing is therefore not applicable.
Clinical trials: When applicable, the statement should specify whether de-identified individual participant data and related documents will be shared, what materials will be available, when and for how long they will be available, and the criteria and mechanism for access.
Responsible data sharing strengthens transparency and reproducibility while protecting participants, privacy, and lawful restrictions.
