Archiving Policy

Digital Preservation and Publication Continuity

Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia (MPPKI) is committed to maintaining the accessibility, integrity, and continuity of its published scholarly record.

The journal applies technical and organizational measures intended to reduce the risks of data loss, system failure, service interruption, and publication discontinuation.

1. Preservation Scope

The journal’s preservation arrangements cover:

• Published article files
• Issue and table-of-contents records
• Article metadata and bibliographic information
• Supplementary materials maintained by the journal
• Correction, retraction, and other post-publication notices

2. Primary Hosting and Backups

Published articles and journal metadata are maintained through the journal’s primary hosting infrastructure.

Backup copies are maintained to support restoration following verified data loss, technical failure, system damage, or service interruption. Restoration procedures may be implemented when the integrity or accessibility of journal content is affected.

3. Metadata Distribution and Discovery

Article metadata may be distributed through DOI registration, indexing databases, library discovery services, repositories, and other scholarly-information systems. These services provide additional discovery and access points but do not replace the journal’s primary preservation responsibilities.

4. Author Self-Archiving

Authors may immediately deposit and share the final published version of their articles without an embargo period.

Copies may be deposited in:

• Institutional repositories
• Subject or disciplinary repositories
• Personal or institutional websites
• Academic profiles and scholarly networks
• Research-project or data repositories

The deposited version must acknowledge its original publication in MPPKI and include the DOI or official article link where available. Reuse remains subject to the journal’s applicable Creative Commons license.

5. Publication Continuity

If the journal experiences a prolonged technical interruption, platform migration, or publication cessation, reasonable measures will be taken to preserve access to previously published articles and their metadata. These measures may include restoration from backups, transfer to another maintained platform, repository deposit, or another suitable preservation arrangement.

6. External Preservation Services

MPPKI may use recognized distributed preservation services, such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or another appropriate preservation network, when formal participation and technical deposit arrangements have been established.

7. Version and Record Integrity

Published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record. Material changes after publication will be documented through an appropriate correction, expression of concern, retraction, or removal notice rather than through silent replacement of the published record.

8. Responsibility and Policy Review

The publisher and journal management are responsible for maintaining and reviewing the journal’s preservation arrangements. This policy may be updated when the hosting infrastructure, repository arrangements, preservation services, or operational requirements change.
