AI Usage Policy

The Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy is committed to upholding academic integrity, originality, and transparency in the scholarly publication process. This policy outlines the appropriate and inappropriate uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Quillbot) in manuscript preparation and submission.


Permitted Uses

Authors may use AI-based tools for the following purposes:

  • Language editing, spelling, and grammar correction
  • Improving sentence clarity and writing flow without altering scientific content
  • Generating outline ideas or restructuring drafts under author supervision

Prohibited Uses

The following uses of AI tools are not permitted:

  • Generating substantial portions or entire sections of the manuscript
  • Creating or manipulating data, references, or citations
  • Submitting AI-generated content as original work without disclosure

Any violation may lead to manuscript rejection, article retraction, or further ethical investigation.


Disclosure and Transparency

Authors must clearly state the use of any AI tool in the Acknowledgments or Methods section, specifying the tool used and its role in the manuscript development.


Author Responsibilities

  • Remain fully responsible for the content and scientific validity of the manuscript
  • Ensure that any AI-assisted content adheres to ethical standards and does not compromise originality
  • Respond to editorial inquiries regarding AI use during peer review

Policy Review

This policy will be periodically reviewed and revised to reflect emerging best practices and ethical considerations regarding AI in scientific publishing.

The Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy supports the responsible use of AI technologies to enhance clarity, provided that it does not replace the intellectual contributions of authors.
