Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy

Authors who publish with the Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy (JPHP) retain copyright ownership of their work. Copyright is not transferred to JPHP, its Editorial Board, or its publisher, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu.

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license supports immediate open dissemination, sharing, adaptation, translation, and responsible reuse while preserving author ownership and requiring appropriate attribution.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright ownership of articles published in JPHP. Submission, acceptance, and publication do not transfer copyright ownership to the journal, Editorial Board, publisher, or Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that the submitted work is original, that it does not unlawfully infringe the rights of others, and that they possess the legal authority to grant the publication and licensing rights described in this notice.

2. Right of First Publication

Authors grant JPHP a nonexclusive right of first publication. This authorization permits the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, preserve, index, archive, display, and identify the article as first published by JPHP.

JPHP publishes and maintains the official version of record. The version of record includes the final editorially approved article, publication metadata, DOI, volume and issue information, licensing statement, and any subsequent correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other post-publication notice.

3. Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise stated on the article page or in a separate credit line, articles published by JPHP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

The license applies to the published article and permits reuse for any lawful purpose, including commercial and noncommercial purposes, provided that all applicable license conditions are followed.

Authors may reuse, share, and distribute their published articles in accordance with the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Permitted activities include:

• posting the final published version on a personal or professional website;
• depositing the final published version in an institutional, disciplinary, national, or subject repository;
• sharing the article through academic and professional networks;
• using the article for teaching, seminars, presentations, reports, policy communication, or research dissemination;
• including the article in a thesis, dissertation, collected work, or academic portfolio;
• translating, summarizing, or adapting the article in accordance with the attribution and ShareAlike requirements.

JPHP applies no embargo period to self-archiving of the final published version. Authors should include the full article citation, DOI, a link to the JPHP version of record, and the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license notice.

Reuse or adaptation must not misrepresent the authors' findings, distort the context of the article, imply endorsement by the authors, JPHP, the editors, the publisher, or Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu, or obscure the fact that changes have been made.

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license does not authorize plagiarism, false attribution, deceptive modification, fabricated endorsement, research misconduct, violation of privacy, breach of confidentiality, or use that is otherwise unlawful.

9. Third-Party Material

Images, tables, figures, datasets, questionnaires, instruments, photographs, maps, illustrations, quotations, scales, software, or other content credited to a separate rights holder may not be covered by the article's CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Authors must obtain permission to reproduce third-party material whenever required and must clearly identify any separate copyright ownership, licensing condition, credit line, or restriction in the manuscript.

Users are responsible for determining whether their intended reuse is permitted by law, an applicable exception or limitation, a separate license, or the relevant rights holder. Additional permission may be required.

10. Research Data and Supplementary Materials

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license applied to an article does not automatically determine copyright ownership, access conditions, confidentiality requirements, or permitted reuse of the underlying research data.

Research datasets, supplementary files, third-party databases, patient or participant information, sensitive records, controlled-access materials, software, source code, and repository content may be subject to separate licenses, participant consent, ethics approval, institutional requirements, contractual restrictions, or applicable data-protection laws.

Authors and users should consult the article's Data Availability Statement, supplementary-file notices, repository record, and the JPHP Data Sharing Policy before accessing or reusing associated research data.

11. Author Warranties

By submitting and publishing an article in JPHP, the authors confirm that:

• the work is original and does not unlawfully infringe copyright, privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, contractual, or other rights;
• all listed authors have approved the submission, publication, licensing terms, and final version of the article;
• the authors are authorized to grant JPHP the nonexclusive right of first publication;
• all third-party material has been cited appropriately and permission has been obtained where required;
• the article does not contain unlawful, defamatory, misleading, confidential, or improperly disclosed information;
• the article does not include material that the authors are not legally or ethically authorized to publish;
• the licensing statement accurately reflects the rights the authors are authorized to grant.
