Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy
The Journal of Public Health and Pharmacy (JPHP) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal that publishes Original Research Articles and Review Articles addressing important issues in public health and the role of pharmacy in improving population health.
The journal promotes evidence-based scholarship, methodological rigor, research integrity, and responsible communication of findings concerning disease patterns, health literacy, health behaviour, environmental and occupational risks, healthcare systems, reproductive health, the economic efficiency of health interventions, and pharmaceutical contributions to public health.
JPHP provides an academic platform for researchers, health professionals, pharmacists, educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to disseminate rigorous and ethically conducted research with clear relevance to public health research, policy, education, administration, prevention, and practice.

1. Journal Focus
JPHP publishes methodologically rigorous research that contributes to public health knowledge, policy, administration, prevention, health education, healthcare delivery, and pharmacy-related public health practice.
The journal welcomes manuscripts from all countries that demonstrate scientific relevance, analytical depth, ethical compliance, transparent reporting, and clear implications for improving population health.
2. Journal Scope
The journal accepts manuscripts addressing the following areas:
1. Epidemiology
Research on the distribution, frequency, patterns, determinants, risk factors, prevention, and burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases in populations.
2. Health Education and Behavioral Science
Health literacy, health education, behavioural and psychosocial determinants, attitudes, perceptions, preventive behaviour, community participation, and evaluation of behaviour-change interventions.
3. Environmental Health and Occupational Safety
Environmental exposures, sanitation, pollution, occupational hazards, workplace safety, worker health, risk assessment, and prevention of environmentally and occupationally related diseases and injuries.
4. Health Administration and Policy
Health system governance, healthcare administration, service delivery, access to care, quality of care, health financing, workforce management, programme implementation, and health policy evaluation.
5. Reproductive Health
Reproductive and sexual health, maternal health, family planning, adolescent reproductive health, reproductive health services, reproductive rights, preventive interventions, and related public health policies.
6. Health Economics and Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
Economic evaluation of public health and healthcare interventions, including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-benefit, budget impact, resource allocation, affordability, and economic efficiency.
7. The Role of Pharmacy in Public Health
Pharmaceutical contributions to population health, access to essential medicines, rational medicine use, medication adherence, medication safety, community pharmacy services, pharmaceutical policy, and pharmacist-led public health interventions.
Scope Requirement
Every manuscript must demonstrate a clear and substantial relationship with at least one journal scope area. Its public health relevance, population-level contribution, policy implication, or practical value must be explicitly presented in the objectives, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions.
3. Article Types
JPHP accepts the following article types:
Original Research Article
Reports original empirical research using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research designs.
Review Article
Provides a rigorous synthesis of existing evidence using transparent, systematic, and reproducible methods appropriate to the research question.
4. Peer Review
Every submission undergoes initial editorial screening to assess scope alignment, completeness, originality, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and adherence to the author guidelines.
Manuscripts that pass initial screening proceed to double-blind peer review by independent reviewers with relevant subject or methodological expertise.
Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, originality, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Decisions are independent of authors’ identities, affiliations, nationality, institutional status, or ability to pay the Article Processing Charge.
5. Publication Frequency
JPHP is published three times each year. Publication schedules may be adjusted when necessary to maintain editorial quality, technical accuracy, and publication integrity.
6. Open Access
JPHP applies an Open Access publishing model. Published articles are freely and permanently accessible to readers without subscription or access charges.
Open access supports wider dissemination, visibility, responsible reuse, academic exchange, and public access to research findings.
7. Article Processing Charge
JPHP applies no submission fee. The Article Processing Charge is payable only after formal acceptance and does not influence editorial decisions. All editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, originality, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
