Author Guidelines

Journal of Foreign Language and Educational Research

The Journal of Foreign Language and Educational Research welcomes original research articles, review articles, and scholarly papers in the fields of foreign language studies, linguistics, literature, education, and related interdisciplinary studies.

Authors are required to follow the guidelines below before submitting manuscripts.


1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and have not been published or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  • Manuscripts should be written in clear and academic English.
  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and unethical publication practices.
  • All submissions must comply with the journal’s publication ethics and policies.

2. Manuscript Scope

The journal accepts manuscripts related to:

  • Foreign language education
  • Applied linguistics
  • Language teaching methodology
  • Curriculum and educational innovation
  • Educational technology in language learning
  • Literature and cultural studies
  • Translation studies
  • Assessment and evaluation in education
  • English language teaching and learning
  • Multilingual and interdisciplinary educational research

3. Manuscript Format

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the following format:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Text alignment: Justified
  • Page numbers: Bottom center

The manuscript length is generally between 5,000–8,000 words, including references.


4. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following sections:

a. Title

  • Clear, concise, and informative
  • Maximum 20 words

b. Author Information

  • Full author names
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Email addresses
  • ORCID ID (if available)

c. Abstract

  • Written in English
  • 150–250 words
  • Briefly describes objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

d. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords
  • Relevant to the manuscript topic

e. Introduction

Includes:

  • Research background
  • Problem statement
  • Literature review
  • Research objectives

f. Method

Describes:

  • Research design
  • Participants or data sources
  • Instruments
  • Data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques

g. Results and Discussion

Presents:

  • Research findings
  • Interpretation and analysis
  • Comparison with previous studies

h. Conclusion

Contains:

  • Main conclusions
  • Implications
  • Recommendations for future research

i. References

  • Use recent and relevant references
  • At least 80% of references should come from journal articles published within the last 10 years
  • References should follow APA Style (7th Edition)

5. Citation and Reference Style

The journal uses APA Style (7th Edition) for citations and references.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
  • Each table and figure should have a clear title and source (if applicable).
  • Images should be of high quality and readable.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for copyrighted materials.

7. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.

Authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the journal template
  • Metadata information is complete
  • All required files are uploaded properly

8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

The editorial board reserves the right to:

  • Accept manuscripts
  • Request revisions
  • Reject manuscripts that do not meet academic standards or journal scope

9. Publication Ethics

Authors must:

  • Ensure originality of the manuscript
  • Avoid plagiarism and duplicate publication
  • Properly acknowledge all sources

10. Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright of published articles while granting the journal the right of first publication.

All published articles are openly accessible in accordance with the journal’s open access policy.
