Editorial Workflow

Journal of Foreign Language and Educational Research

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal submission system in accordance with the author guidelines and manuscript template provided by the journal.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate:

  • Suitability with the journal scope and focus
  • Manuscript structure and formatting
  • Originality and plagiarism check
  • Compliance with ethical standards

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to authors for correction or rejected before the review process.

3. Assignment to Section Editor

The Editor-in-Chief assigns the manuscript to a Section Editor or Handling Editor based on the manuscript topic and expertise.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review Process

The manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process.

Reviewers evaluate:

  • Originality and contribution
  • Research methodology
  • Relevance to foreign language and educational research
  • Clarity of presentation and academic quality
  • Validity of data and conclusions

5. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted without revision
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Rejected

The decision and reviewers’ comments are sent to the corresponding author.

6. Revision by Authors

Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ and editors’ suggestions within the specified time.

Revised manuscripts may be:

  • Re-evaluated by the editor, or
  • Sent back to reviewers for further review when necessary.

7. Final Acceptance

After the manuscript satisfies all academic and editorial requirements, the Editor-in-Chief issues a final acceptance decision.

8. Copyediting and Layout Editing

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

  • Language editing
  • Reference checking
  • Formatting and layout editing
  • Proofreading process

Authors may be asked to review the final proof before publication.

9. Publication

The final version of the manuscript is published online in the scheduled journal issue and becomes accessible through the journal website.

10. Indexing and Archiving

Published articles are indexed and archived according to the journal indexing policies and digital preservation system.

Publication Ethics

The Journal of Foreign Language and Educational Research upholds publication ethics and follows academic integrity standards. All submitted manuscripts must be original, free from plagiarism, and not under consideration by other journals simultaneously.
