REVIEWER GUIDELINES
MALEO Law Journal (MLJ) sincerely appreciates the valuable contribution of reviewers in maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of scholarly publishing. Reviewers play a vital role in ensuring that every published manuscript meets high academic, ethical, and scientific standards through an objective, confidential, and constructive peer-review process.
Reviewers are expected to conduct their evaluations fairly, independently, and professionally in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally recognized standards of peer review.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and independently.
- Provide constructive, clear, and evidence-based comments to help authors improve their work.
- Assess the originality, novelty, significance, and scientific contribution of the manuscript.
- Identify ethical concerns, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct when suspected.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscript contents.
- Declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
- Complete the review within the specified review period.

Reviewer Recommendation
- Accept – The manuscript is suitable for publication without revision.
- Minor Revision – Publication is recommended after minor improvements.
- Major Revision – Significant revisions are required before further consideration.
- Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's academic or ethical standards.
Confidentiality and Ethics
Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Manuscripts, supporting materials, and review reports must not be shared, discussed, copied, or used for personal research without prior authorization from the Editor-in-Chief. Any conflict of interest or ethical concern should be reported immediately to the Editorial Office.
