The editorial workflow of Iqra: Jurnal Ilmu Kependidikan dan Keislaman is designed to ensure a transparent, efficient, and high-quality publication process in accordance with international academic publishing standards.
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. The submission must follow the journal’s author guidelines, including formatting, referencing style, and ethical requirements.
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts a preliminary evaluation to assess:
Suitability with the journal’s scope
Compliance with submission guidelines
Similarity check using plagiarism detection software
Basic academic quality
Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum requirements may be rejected at this stage (desk rejection) or returned to authors for correction.
Manuscripts that pass the initial check are assigned to an Associate Editor or Section Editor based on subject expertise.
The assigned editor sends the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodology, clarity, contribution, and relevance.
After receiving reviewer reports, the editor evaluates the recommendations and makes one of the following decisions:
Accept
Minor revision
Major revision
Reject
The final decision is approved by the Editor-in-Chief.
If revisions are required, authors must revise their manuscript according to reviewer and editor comments within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers if necessary.
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to improve language clarity and consistency, followed by layout editing to ensure proper formatting for publication.
Authors are given the final version (proof) to review for minor corrections before publication.
After final approval, the article is published online in the current or upcoming issue and becomes freely accessible as part of the journal’s open-access policy.
