Withdrawal Manuscript

Iqra: Jurnal Ilmu Kependidikan dan Keislaman allows authors to withdraw their manuscripts under certain conditions, while maintaining ethical publishing standards and preventing academic misconduct.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may withdraw their manuscript at any time before the peer review process begins. In this case, no penalties will be applied, and the manuscript will be removed from the editorial system.

Withdrawal During Peer Review

If authors request withdrawal while the manuscript is under peer review, they must submit a formal written request to the Editor-in-Chief stating clear reasons for withdrawal. Withdrawal at this stage is generally discouraged, except under valid academic or ethical considerations.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted for publication is strongly discouraged. Such requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. Authors may be subject to sanctions, including temporary or permanent restrictions on future submissions.

4. Ethical Considerations

Manuscript withdrawal is not permitted if it is intended to:

  • Submit the same manuscript to another journal simultaneously (duplicate submission)

  • Avoid negative peer review outcomes

  • Engage in unethical publishing practices

Editorial Rights

The editorial board reserves the right to refuse withdrawal requests if the manuscript is suspected of ethical violations or if withdrawal may disrupt the publication process.

Communication Requirement

All withdrawal requests must be submitted via official email communication and must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief before the manuscript is considered officially withdrawn.

Compliance with Publishing Ethics

This policy is aligned with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure integrity, fairness, and transparency in the publication process.
