Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Iqra: Jurnal Ilmu Kependidikan dan Keislaman establishes this Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy to ensure transparency, academic integrity, and responsible use of AI-based tools in scholarly publishing.

Scope of AI Use

Authors, reviewers, and editors may use AI-based tools (such as language editing, translation, or formatting tools) only as supporting instruments. AI tools must not replace human intellectual contribution, critical analysis, or academic judgment.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their manuscripts, including any content assisted by AI tools. Authors must:

  • Ensure that all ideas, arguments, and conclusions are their own intellectual work
  • Verify the accuracy of any AI-assisted output
  • Disclose the use of AI tools (if used) in the manuscript when relevant
  • Ensure AI tools are not used to generate fabricated data, references, or research findings

Prohibited Use of AI

The use of AI is strictly prohibited for:

  • Generating entire manuscripts or substantial parts of academic content without human authorship
  • Fabricating data, citations, or research results
  • Manipulating peer review processes
  • Creating misleading or non-existent scholarly references

AI Use in Manuscript Preparation

AI tools may be used for limited purposes such as:

  • Grammar and language improvement
  • Translation assistance
  • Formatting and readability enhancement

However, all final content must be reviewed and approved by the authors before submission.

Reviewer and Editor Use of AI

Reviewers and editors are not permitted to upload confidential manuscripts into public AI systems that may compromise data privacy. AI tools may only be used for administrative or language-support purposes that do not affect editorial decision-making.

Transparency and Disclosure

If AI tools are used in any stage of manuscript preparation, authors are encouraged to include a disclosure statement in the acknowledgments or methodology section.

Ethical Compliance

The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) recommendations regarding the responsible use of AI in academic publishing. Any violation of this policy may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or further ethical action.
