Student Coping Mechanism in Facing Stress Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Abstract
Latar Belakang: Surat Edaran Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) Nomor 3 Tahun 2020 tentang Pencegahan COVID -19 di Satuan Pendidikan dan Surat Edaran Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Nomor 4 Tahun 2020 tentang Pelaksanaan Kebijakan Pendidikan Pada Masa Darurat Penyebaran Corona Virus Disease (COVID -19) menetapkan kebijakan belajar dari rumah.
Tujuan: Menganalisis coping stress pada mahasiswa pascasarjana FKM UI tahun 2020 selama masa pandemi COVID -19 yang melakukan perkuliahan secara daring (Study From Home / SFH) ditambah WFH.
Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dengan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dilakukan kepada mahasiswa pascasarjana FKM UI angkatan 2020, sedangkan triangulasi sumber dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan informasi dari salah satu Dosen FKM UI dan Psikolog UI.
Hasil: Pembelajaran jarak jauh menyembabkan banyak mahasiswa mengaku mengalami stres sehingga sebagian harus mengakses layanan dari psikiater untuk mengurangi pengaruh buruk yang dirasakan. Tak jarang, manifestasi stres muncul dalam bentuk gangguan fisiologis dan psikologis.
Kesimpulan: Koping terhadap stres perlu dilakukan untuk mengurangi gangguan yang dirasakan. Terdapat dua strategi coping yang cukup efektif dalam mengatasi stres akibat pembelajaran jarak jauh, antara lain emotional focus coping dan problem focus.
