Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

 

Sambulugana Journal recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in academic research and scholarly writing. The journal supports the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI-assisted tools while maintaining the principles of academic integrity, originality, and human accountability.

AI technologies may assist authors in improving language, grammar, formatting, and organization of manuscripts; however, AI tools cannot replace the intellectual contributions, critical thinking, scientific judgment, or ethical responsibilities of authors.

• Authors may use AI tools to improve language, grammar, spelling, or manuscript readability.
• Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted content.
• Any substantial use of AI in preparing the manuscript should be transparently disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgements or a dedicated statement).
• AI-generated text, figures, images, tables, or data must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors before submission.
• Authors must ensure that AI-generated content does not infringe copyright, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights.

• AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
• AI systems cannot assume responsibility for the content of a manuscript.
• AI must not be used to fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent research data or findings.
• Undisclosed or misleading use of AI may be considered a breach of publication ethics.

• Editors and reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
• Editors and reviewers should not upload confidential manuscripts to public AI platforms or services that may retain or reuse submitted content.
• Editorial decisions must always be made by qualified human editors based on scholarly merit.
• AI may assist editorial tasks but must not replace independent editorial or peer-review judgment.
