Withdrawal Manuscript

Jurnal Forbis Sains (ISSN 2828-349X) recognizes that authors may request the withdrawal of manuscripts under certain circumstances. However, manuscript withdrawal is considered an exceptional action and must follow ethical academic publishing standards to avoid disrupting the editorial and peer-review process.

This policy outlines the procedures, conditions, and responsibilities related to manuscript withdrawal in Jurnal Forbis Sains.

Conditions for Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request manuscript withdrawal for legitimate and reasonable reasons, including:

  • Significant errors discovered in the manuscript
  • Duplicate submission identified by the authors
  • Ethical concerns related to the research
  • Author disagreement or authorship disputes
  • Technical or legal issues affecting publication eligibility

Requests for withdrawal must be submitted formally by the corresponding author and approved by all co-authors.

Withdrawal Procedure

To withdraw a manuscript, the corresponding author must submit an official withdrawal request to the editorial office containing:

  • Manuscript title
  • Manuscript identification number (if available)
  • Reason for withdrawal
  • Statement of agreement from all co-authors

The request will be reviewed by the editorial board before a final decision is made.

The manuscript status remains active until the editorial office officially confirms the withdrawal.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may withdraw manuscripts without penalty if the request is submitted before the manuscript enters the peer-review process or before substantial editorial work has been conducted.

Withdrawal During Peer Review

Withdrawal requests submitted after the manuscript has entered the peer-review process are strongly discouraged because the journal has already invested editorial and reviewer resources.

The editorial board reserves the right to evaluate such requests and may:

  • Approve the withdrawal
  • Request clarification from the authors
  • Restrict future submissions in cases of unethical conduct

Repeated or unjustified withdrawals may negatively affect future submissions from the authors.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal of manuscripts after final acceptance is considered unethical except under extraordinary circumstances, such as:

  • Proven ethical violations
  • Major scientific errors
  • Legal or institutional issues

Authors requesting withdrawal after acceptance must provide a detailed explanation and supporting evidence where necessary.

The journal reserves the right to reject unjustified withdrawal requests after acceptance.

Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been published, withdrawal is no longer possible. In such cases, the journal may issue:

  • Corrections
  • Retractions
  • Expressions of concern

This action will follow established publication ethics guidelines and international scholarly publishing standards.

Unethical Withdrawal

The following actions are considered unethical:

  • Withdrawing manuscripts to submit them to another journal after peer review
  • Failure to respond to editorial communication without formal withdrawal
  • Simultaneous submission to multiple journals
  • Withdrawal intended to manipulate publication timelines

Unethical withdrawal practices may result in:

  • Rejection of current or future submissions
  • Notification to affiliated institutions
  • Temporary submission restrictions

Editorial Rights

The editorial board of Jurnal Forbis Sains reserves the right to make final decisions regarding manuscript withdrawal requests in accordance with publication ethics, editorial policies, and academic integrity standards.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Through this policy, Jurnal Forbis Sains seeks to maintain professionalism, transparency, and fairness in the scholarly publication process while respecting the rights and responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.
