Corretion & Recration

Jurnal Forbis Sains (ISSN 2828-349X) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes the importance of correcting errors and addressing ethical issues in published articles in a transparent and responsible manner.

This policy outlines the procedures for corrections, retractions, and related editorial actions in accordance with international standards of scholarly publishing and publication ethics.

Corrections Policy

Corrections are issued when a published article contains errors or inaccuracies that do not invalidate the overall findings, conclusions, or integrity of the research but require clarification for readers.

Corrections may include:

  • Typographical errors
  • Author information errors
  • Minor data inaccuracies
  • Errors in figures, tables, or references
  • Production or formatting mistakes
  • Clarification of statements or terminology

Types of Corrections

1. Erratum

An erratum is issued to correct errors introduced during the editorial, production, or publication process by the journal.

2. Corrigendum

A corrigendum is issued when authors identify errors in their published work that require correction but do not significantly affect the scientific validity of the article.

Correction Procedure

When an error is identified:

  1. The author, reader, reviewer, or editor may notify the editorial office.
  2. The editorial board evaluates the nature and impact of the error.
  3. If necessary, the journal publishes an official correction notice linked to the original article.
  4. The corrected version and publication history are maintained transparently.

The journal ensures that all corrections are clearly identified and permanently accessible.

Retraction Policy

Retraction is a mechanism used to correct the scholarly record and alert readers to seriously flawed or unethical published research.

An article may be retracted if:

  • There is evidence of plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification is identified
  • Serious methodological or scientific errors invalidate the findings
  • Duplicate or redundant publication is discovered
  • Unethical research practices are confirmed
  • Copyright infringement or legal violations occur
  • Peer-review manipulation or publication misconduct is detected

Retraction is intended to preserve academic integrity rather than punish authors.

Retraction Procedure

The retraction process generally includes:

  1. Investigation by the editorial board and, when necessary, consultation with authors, reviewers, or institutions.
  2. Evaluation of evidence related to the alleged misconduct or error.
  3. Communication with the corresponding author regarding the concerns raised.
  4. Final editorial decision regarding retraction.
  5. Publication of a formal retraction notice explaining the reason for retraction.

The original article may remain accessible for scholarly transparency but will be clearly marked as “Retracted.”

Expression of Concern

In situations where an investigation is ongoing or evidence is inconclusive, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers of potential issues related to a published article.

This notice may remain until the investigation is completed and a final decision is made.

Removal of Articles

The journal may remove published content only in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Legal requirements or court orders
  • Defamation or violation of legal rights
  • Serious health or safety risks
  • Copyright infringement

In such cases, bibliographic information and removal notices will remain available to maintain transparency.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are expected to:

  • Promptly notify the journal of significant errors discovered in published work
  • Cooperate with editorial investigations
  • Provide accurate and transparent information when corrections are required

Failure to cooperate may result in additional editorial actions.

Editorial Commitment

The editorial team of Jurnal Forbis Sains is committed to handling corrections and retractions fairly, transparently, and professionally while safeguarding the integrity of academic publishing and the reliability of scientific literature.

All editorial actions related to corrections and retractions are conducted in accordance with ethical publishing principles and recognized scholarly standards.
