Introduction

Jurnal Forbis Sains is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes high-quality research articles, review papers, case studies, and conceptual papers in the fields of agriculture, environmental sciences, food systems, agribusiness, fisheries, forestry, and sustainable rural development.

The journal welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students worldwide. Submitted manuscripts must be original, scientifically rigorous, and relevant to the journal’s focus and scope.

Authors are required to follow these guidelines carefully before submitting manuscripts to ensure a smooth review and publication process.


1. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Short Communications
  • Case Studies
  • Conceptual or Theoretical Papers

All submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.


2. Language

Manuscripts should be written in clear and academic English. Authors are encouraged to ensure proper grammar, spelling, and scientific writing quality before submission.

The journal may request language revision for manuscripts that do not meet acceptable language standards.


3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally contain the following sections:

a. Title

  • Concise, informative, and specific
  • Maximum approximately 20 words
  • Reflecting the main topic of the study

b. Author Information

Include:

  • Full author names
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Corresponding author email address
  • ORCID ID (if available)

c. Abstract

  • Written in English
  • Approximately 150–250 words
  • Briefly describing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
  • Avoid citations and undefined abbreviations

d. Keywords

Provide 3–6 keywords relevant to the manuscript topic.

e. Introduction

The introduction should:

  • Explain the research background
  • Present relevant literature review
  • Identify research gaps
  • State objectives and significance of the study

f. Materials and Methods

Describe clearly:

  • Research design
  • Materials and instruments used
  • Data collection methods
  • Statistical or analytical procedures

The methods should be sufficiently detailed to allow reproducibility.

g. Results and Discussion

Present:

  • Research findings clearly and systematically
  • Interpretation and analysis of results
  • Comparison with previous studies
  • Scientific implications and significance

Tables and figures should be integrated appropriately within the discussion.

h. Conclusion

Provide concise conclusions reflecting:

  • Main findings
  • Research implications
  • Recommendations or future research directions

i. Acknowledgments (Optional)

Mention financial support, institutional assistance, or contributors who are not listed as authors.

j. Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest.

k. References

All cited references must appear in the reference list and follow the journal citation style consistently.


4. Formatting Requirements

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the following general format:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Paper size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5 spacing
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Page numbers included

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles and captions.


5. Citation and Reference Style

The journal recommends using recent and relevant references, especially from international peer-reviewed journals.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

References should follow a consistent citation style as specified by the journal template.


6. Tables and Figures

Tables

  • Must be editable (not images)
  • Numbered consecutively
  • Include concise titles

Figures

  • High-resolution quality
  • Clear and readable
  • Include captions below the figure

Authors must ensure that all tables and figures are properly cited within the manuscript text.


7. Ethical Standards

Authors must comply with publication ethics and academic integrity standards.

The journal strictly prohibits:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate publication
  • Unethical research practices
  • Improper authorship attribution

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before peer review.


8. Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to:

  • Research conception or design
  • Data collection or analysis
  • Manuscript writing or revision
  • Approval of the final manuscript

All authors must agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript.


9. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors using AI-assisted tools for language editing, data analysis, or manuscript preparation must disclose such use appropriately.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors of the manuscript.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.


10. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.

During submission, authors should upload:

  • Manuscript file
  • Supplementary files (if applicable)
  • Ethical approval documents (if required)
  • Declaration statements

Authors will receive confirmation once the submission process is completed.


11. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent reviewers.

The editorial board evaluates manuscripts based on:

  • Originality
  • Scientific contribution
  • Methodological quality
  • Clarity and relevance
  • Compliance with journal standards

Authors may be asked to revise manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments before final acceptance.


12. Publication Ethics and Copyright

Authors submitting manuscripts to Jurnal Forbis Sains agree that:

  • The manuscript is original and unpublished
  • The work does not infringe copyright or ethical standards
  • The journal holds the right of first publication

Authors retain copyright under the journal’s open-access policy and licensing terms.


13. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Information regarding publication fees or Article Processing Charges (APC) is available on the journal website or will be communicated during the publication process.

Payment of APC does not influence editorial decisions.


14. Revision and Proofreading

Authors are responsible for revising manuscripts according to editorial and reviewer comments within the specified timeline.

Before publication, authors will receive proofs for final review and approval.
