Editorial Workflow

Jurnal Forbis Sains (ISSN 2828-349X) implements a professional, transparent, and systematic editorial workflow to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic standard of all published manuscripts. The editorial process is conducted through a rigorous peer-review system and follows international scholarly publishing practices.

The editorial workflow of Jurnal Forbis Sains consists of the following stages:

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, formatting requirements, ethical standards, and scope of publication.

At the time of submission, authors are required to provide:

  • Complete manuscript files
  • Author information and affiliations
  • Abstract and keywords
  • Declaration of originality
  • Conflict of interest statement (if applicable)
  • Supporting documents or ethical approval (if required)

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned handling editor conducts an initial assessment of the submitted manuscript. This stage evaluates:

  • Suitability with the journal’s focus and scope
  • Manuscript structure and formatting
  • Originality and scientific contribution
  • Language clarity and academic quality
  • Compliance with ethical standards and publication policies
  • Similarity or plagiarism screening

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal requirements may be:

  • Rejected immediately
  • Returned to authors for technical revision
  • Proceeded to the peer-review stage

3. Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality and prevent unethical publication practices. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or improper citation practices will be rejected.

4. Assignment to Section Editor

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an appropriate section editor or handling editor based on the manuscript’s subject area and expertise.

The section editor is responsible for:

  • Managing the review process
  • Selecting qualified reviewers
  • Monitoring revisions and communications
  • Recommending editorial decisions

5. Double-Blind Peer Review Process

The journal applies a double-blind peer-review system in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities remain anonymous.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty
  • Research methodology
  • Scientific significance
  • Data validity and analysis
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Contribution to scientific knowledge

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts.

6. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports and editorial evaluation, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Accept with major revisions
  • Resubmit for further review
  • Reject

The editorial decision and reviewers’ comments are communicated to the corresponding author through the journal system.

7. Manuscript Revision

Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments within the specified deadline. Revised manuscripts should include:

  • A revised version of the manuscript
  • A response letter explaining all revisions made

Failure to submit revisions within the allocated time may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from the publication process.

8. Final Evaluation and Acceptance

After revision, the editor evaluates whether the manuscript has adequately addressed all comments and recommendations. If necessary, the revised manuscript may be returned to reviewers for additional evaluation.

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on the manuscript’s academic quality and compliance with journal standards.

9. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and proofreading stage to ensure:

  • Grammatical accuracy
  • Consistency in formatting and citation style
  • Clarity and readability
  • Accuracy of references, tables, and figures

Authors may be asked to review the final proof before publication.

10. Layout Editing and Production

The manuscript is formatted into the journal publication template and prepared for online publication. Metadata, DOI registration, and indexing information are finalized during this stage.

11. Publication and Dissemination

The final version of the article is published online according to the journal’s publication schedule. Published articles are made openly accessible to readers worldwide under the journal’s open-access policy.

The journal promotes broad dissemination of published articles through indexing systems, academic databases, and scholarly networks to enhance visibility and citation impact.

12. Post-Publication Handling

After publication, the editorial team remains responsible for handling:

  • Corrections and errata
  • Retractions or withdrawals
  • Ethical complaints
  • Requests related to published content

The journal maintains transparency and academic integrity in all post-publication processes.

Commitment to Quality

Through this editorial workflow, Jurnal Forbis Sains is committed to ensuring a fair, objective, efficient, and ethical publication process while maintaining high academic and scientific standards for all published articles.
