Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single space; uses a 12-point font of Book Antiqua; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The main purpose of Journal of Educational Management and Islamic Leadership (JEMIL) is to provide an important forum for exchanging ideas to enrich theories, policies, and practices of educational management and Islamic leadership in education in Indonesia. JEMIL is open access and peer-reviewed e-journal, published in Indonesia. We accept unpublished, high-quality, and original research manuscripts in English (preferable) or Indonesian, resulting primarily from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodology related to or associated with education. JEMIL also accepts manuscripts resulting from book reviews, program evaluations, and informative articles related to the focus and scope of this journal. JEMIL is published 2 times per year by Program Pascasarjana Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu. These issues include, but are not limited to, practices, policies, and research in educational management and Islamic leadership in education from early childhood education to higher education which cover the areas of educational reform, school change, principal leadership, educational leadership practices, professional development for teacher and educational staff, Islamic leadership practices in education, instructional management, curriculum development, evaluation on educational policy, Educational supervision, multicultural leadership in education, teacher education, educational developments, total quality management, quality assurance in education.

Manuscript Criteria. The fitness of a manuscript for publication in JEMIL is carefully reviewed based on each of the dimensions listed below.

Significance/relevance to education
Conceptual framework (connections to relevant constructs in literature)
Methods (manuscript MUST an empirical study): appropriateness to questions, adequate description of methods (including data collection and analysis), and rigor of methods
Findings/conclusions are data-based
Overall contribution to the field
Writing style/composition/clarity

Manuscript General Format

Title, Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review/Theoretical/Conceptual Framework, Methods, Findings/Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, References

Title Page. Title should be maximum 20 words.

Typing. JEMIL only accepts electronic submission in MSWord. All text, including title, headings, references, quotations, figure captions, and tables, must be typed, single space, with one-inch margins all around and type on one side of A4 paper. Please use a 12-point font- Book Antiqua. Your manuscript, including its headings and subheadings, should conform to the most recent APA style guide. Your manuscript should be single space throughout including references.

Length. When submitting to JEMIL, a manuscript, including all references, tables, and figures, should not be less than 8 pages and not exceed 18 pages. Submissions exceeding this limit may not be accepted for review. Authors should keep tables and figures (Using Text Box) to a minimum and include them in the text.

Abstract and keywords. All research manuscripts for JEMIL must include an abstract and a few keywords. Abstracts describing the essence of the manuscript must be 200 - 250 words. Abstracts must be written in English and Indonesian. Authors should provide maximum 5 keywords.

References: References should be cited both in text and in the references list and should conform to the most recent APA style guide and use reference manager such as Mendeley or EndNote.

Tables and Figures. JEMIL requires all tables and figures to conform with the most recent APA style guide.

Professional Editing Services. Authors seeking assistance with English language editing and/or translation should contact isnada_2009@yahoo.com

More than one author: Notice to Authors of Joint Works (articles with more than one author). This journal uses a contributor agreement that requires just one author (the Corresponding Author) to sign on behalf of all authors. Please identify the Corresponding Author for your work when submitting your manuscript for review to JEMIL.

Acknowledgements. Acknowledgements of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the References (If applicable)

Appendices. Supplementary material should be collected in an Appendix (after references).

Copyright Notice

After the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer form. Copyright will be transferred to Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu, Postgraduate Program in Master Program in Educational Management, via e-mail. A copyright form will be sent to you via e-mail after the accepted manuscript has been submitted.
