Editorial Policies

Journal of Educational Management and Islamic Leadership (JEMIL)

The Journal of Educational Management and Islamic Leadership (JEMIL) is dedicated to upholding rigorous editorial standards in order to ensure the publication of high-quality, ethical, and impactful research. Our editorial policies are based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and best practices in academic publishing.

1. Peer Review Policy

  • All manuscripts submitted to JEMIL undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

  • The peer review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks.

  • The final decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers' recommendations.

2. Editorial Independence

  • Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by the publisher, sponsors, or any external institution.

  • The Editorial Board is responsible for ensuring the scientific quality and integrity of published content.

3. Confidentiality

  • The editorial team ensures that all submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

  • Information regarding a submitted paper will only be shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial advisors as necessary.

4. Conflict of Interest

  • Editors and reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling a manuscript where a conflict exists.

  • Authors are also required to disclose any financial or personal relationships that might bias their work.

5. Authorship and Contributions

  • Only individuals who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the work should be listed as authors.

  • All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

6. Manuscript Originality and Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism using software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.

  • JEMIL follows a strict anti-plagiarism policy, and manuscripts with significant similarity will be rejected.

7. Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawals

  • Corrections will be issued for minor errors that do not affect the overall conclusions of the paper.

  • Retractions will be made in cases of major errors, academic misconduct, or ethical violations.

  • Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript before or during the review process with proper justification.

8. Open Access and Licensing

  • JEMIL is an open access journal, and all articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.

  • This allows for free distribution and use of articles for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution.

9. Ethical Oversight

  • The editorial team is committed to ethical oversight and will investigate any allegations of misconduct.

  • In cases of ethical breaches, JEMIL will follow COPE’s guidelines in handling complaints and disputes.

10. Appeals and Complaints

  • Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written request explaining their rationale.

  • All appeals and complaints are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and/or an independent editorial committee.
