Publication Ethics

The Indonesian Research Journal in Legal Studies (IRJILS) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. All parties involved in the publishing process — editors, reviewers, and authors — are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:

1. Duties of Editors

  • Ensure a fair, objective, and timely review process.

  • Evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, or political view.

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not use the information for personal advantage.

  • Prevent and address any potential conflicts of interest.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide constructive, honest, and timely feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.

  • Maintain confidentiality and not share or use unpublished material for personal benefit.

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively, without personal criticism of the authors.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment.

3. Duties of Authors

  • Submit only original works that have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration in other journals.

  • Properly cite all sources and avoid all forms of plagiarism.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Ensure that research involving human subjects complies with ethical standards.

  • Cooperate with editors during the peer review and revision process.

4. Plagiarism and Misconduct

  • IRJILS strictly prohibits plagiarism, falsification, and data fabrication.

  • Manuscripts found to contain unethical practices will be rejected, and published articles may be retracted if misconduct is discovered after publication.

5. Publisher’s Responsibilities

  • Support editors in maintaining academic integrity.

  • Ensure that the publishing process runs transparently and professionally.

  • Guarantee free access to published content in accordance with the journal’s open access policy.
