Withdrawal of Manuscript Policy

The Early Childhood Education Indonesian Journal (ECEIJ) is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, and ethical standards throughout the manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes. Authors are therefore expected to submit manuscripts responsibly and comply with the journal's editorial policies.

1. Manuscript Withdrawal Before Review

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript before the peer-review process begins must submit a formal written request to the ECEIJ editorial team. The request must include the manuscript title, submission identification number (if available), the names of all authors, and a clear reason for withdrawal.

Withdrawal requests must be submitted by the corresponding author, with the agreement of all co-authors.

2. Manuscript Withdrawal During Peer Review

Withdrawal of a manuscript after the peer-review process has started is discouraged unless there is a legitimate reason, such as a significant error in the manuscript, an ethical concern, or another substantial circumstance.

Authors must contact the editorial team and explain the reason for withdrawal. The withdrawal will be considered complete only after written confirmation has been provided by the editorial team.

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under consideration by ECEIJ.

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance

Requests to withdraw a manuscript after acceptance will be considered only under exceptional circumstances, such as the discovery of serious errors, research misconduct, authorship disputes, or other substantial ethical concerns.

The corresponding author must provide a formal explanation and confirmation that all co-authors agree with the request. The editor will assess the circumstances and determine the appropriate action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

4. Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been published, it cannot ordinarily be withdrawn as though it had never been published. If serious errors, ethical violations, or other substantial concerns are identified, the journal will consider appropriate editorial actions, including correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the circumstances.

Such actions will be handled transparently to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

5. Duplicate Submission and Unethical Withdrawal

Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is not permitted. Authors must not withdraw a manuscript from ECEIJ solely to publish it elsewhere while the manuscript is still undergoing editorial evaluation without following the formal withdrawal procedure.

Unjustified withdrawal, duplicate submission, or failure to communicate with the editorial team may be treated as a violation of the journal's publication ethics policies.

6. Editorial Responsibilities

The ECEIJ editorial team will review withdrawal requests fairly and communicate its decision to the corresponding author. The journal may request additional information or clarification when necessary.

The editorial team will maintain appropriate records of withdrawal requests and decisions to ensure transparency and accountability.

7. Withdrawal Procedure

Authors requesting withdrawal should:

  1. Send a formal withdrawal request to the ECEIJ editorial office through the official journal communication channel.

  2. Identify the manuscript title and submission number, if available.

  3. Explain the reason for withdrawal.

  4. Confirm that all co-authors have agreed to the withdrawal.

  5. Wait for written confirmation from the editorial team before considering the withdrawal process complete.

ECEIJ aims to handle all withdrawal requests professionally and consistently while protecting the rights of authors, reviewers, editors, and other parties involved in scholarly publishing.

Commitment to Publication Ethics

ECEIJ encourages authors to carefully review their manuscripts and ensure that all authors approve the final submission before submitting it for consideration. The journal seeks to prevent unnecessary withdrawals and maintain a fair, transparent, and ethical publication process.
