The Early Childhood Education Indonesian Journal (ECEIJ) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and ensuring long-term access to academic publications. The journal recognizes the importance of digital preservation in maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and availability of scholarly records for current and future generations.
ECEIJ seeks to maintain reliable digital archives of its published articles, issues, metadata, and related publication information to minimize the risk of permanent loss resulting from technical failures, system changes, or other unforeseen circumstances.
ECEIJ supports digital preservation practices designed to protect its electronic publications against data loss, corruption, and unauthorized alteration. These practices may include:
Regular backups of journal content, publication metadata, and relevant website data.
Secure storage of backup files in appropriate digital storage environments.
Periodic monitoring of website availability and the integrity of archived content.
Maintenance and migration of digital files when necessary to ensure continued accessibility.
Appropriate technical and administrative measures to protect journal content from unauthorized access, accidental deletion, and system failures.
The frequency and implementation of these measures depend on the journal's available technical infrastructure and preservation arrangements.
ECEIJ may use the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), where supported and properly enabled in its Open Journal Systems (OJS) installation, to provide distributed preservation of published journal content.
PKP PN is designed to preserve digital journal content through a distributed preservation network. If ECEIJ activates and qualifies for this service, the journal will seek to maintain preservation arrangements in accordance with the service's technical requirements.
The journal's actual participation in PKP PN will be reflected in its website information and preservation settings.
ECEIJ aims to maintain access to its published articles and journal archives for as long as technically and institutionally feasible. The journal seeks to preserve article files, bibliographic metadata, publication dates, author information, abstracts, and citation details to support discoverability and continued scholarly use.
Where necessary, ECEIJ may undertake appropriate measures to migrate files to supported formats or update its digital infrastructure while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
ECEIJ supports the long-term availability of its published scholarly content in accordance with the journal's open-access policy, copyright provisions, and applicable licensing terms.
Authors and readers may access archived articles through the journal website, subject to the journal's publication policies and any applicable legal restrictions.
In the event of temporary website disruption, technical failure, or changes to the journal's hosting environment, ECEIJ will seek to restore access to its published content using available backups and preservation resources.
The journal will make reasonable efforts to maintain the continuity of its digital archive and minimize interruptions to access. Where a change of platform or hosting provider occurs, the journal will seek to preserve existing article records, metadata, and persistent identifiers where applicable.
ECEIJ will periodically review this Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy to ensure that it remains appropriate to the journal's technical infrastructure, publication practices, and digital preservation needs.
Through these measures, ECEIJ aims to safeguard its scholarly record and support the long-term accessibility, reliability, and integrity of research in early childhood education.
