The Early Childhood Education Indonesian Journal (ECEIJ) applies a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of all manuscripts submitted for publication. The journal welcomes scholarly contributions in the field of early childhood education and related areas.
All submitted manuscripts are initially examined by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, completeness of submission documents, and overall suitability for peer review. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at this stage.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are checked for similarity to previously published works using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate screening methods. Manuscripts containing unacceptable levels of similarity or evidence of plagiarism may be rejected in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
ECEIJ uses a double-blind peer-review system in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another throughout the review process. Each eligible manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
Relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
Originality and contribution to the field of early childhood education.
Clarity and adequacy of the research objectives and theoretical framework.
Appropriateness of the research design, methods, and data analysis.
Accuracy and relevance of the results and discussion.
Quality of academic writing, references, and presentation.
Compliance with research ethics, particularly research involving young children and other vulnerable participants.
Based on their evaluations, reviewers provide comments and recommendations to the editor. The possible recommendations include:
Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication without substantial revision.
Minor Revision: The manuscript requires limited revisions before a final decision.
Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may be subject to further review.
Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or is unsuitable for publication.
Reviewers provide constructive feedback to help authors improve the quality and clarity of their manuscripts.
The editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers' comments, the manuscript's quality, and its suitability for the journal. Authors whose manuscripts require revision must respond to the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the deadline specified by the editorial team.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. The submission of a revised manuscript does not guarantee acceptance.
Once a manuscript has satisfied the editorial and peer-review requirements, the editor issues the final acceptance decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout preparation, and publication according to the journal's editorial schedule.
ECEIJ reserves the right to reject manuscripts at any stage if serious ethical concerns, research misconduct, or substantial non-compliance with publication requirements are identified.
Editors and reviewers must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, impartial, and timely evaluations and to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
The peer-review process is conducted to uphold academic integrity, promote responsible research, and maintain the scholarly quality of ECEIJ.
