Teachers’ Strategies to Gain Students’ Reading Comprehension at Junior High School

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to isvestigate the teachers strategies in teaching reading comprehension at the students, and how implements the strategies in teaching reading comprehension at the students. The population of the research at the eighth grade students class D of SMPN 7 Palu in the academic year 2021, which the total numbers are 23 students The method of this research as descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this study was an English teachers of state junior high school SMPN 7 Palu. The instruments of this study were observation and interview. The result of the study were strategies used by the teacher that is QARs (Questions Answer Relationship), the teachers was able to learn about which students recived assigment given and students were who to focus more on the next and what was contained in the text.
