Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy refers to a situation where a couple does not desire a pregnancy resulting in childbirth. Unwanted pregnancies are categorized as mistimed pregnancies (not occurring at the right time) and completely unwanted pregnancies. According to the 2022 State of World Population (SWOP) report released by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), there were 121 million pregnancies globally, with nearly half being unwanted. In Indonesia, from 2015 to 2019, there were approximately 7.91 million pregnancies annually. In Yogyakarta Province, cases of unwanted pregnancies increased from 887 in 2022 to 1,090 in 2023. During January–June 2024, there were 484 cases of unwanted pregnancies in Yogyakarta, with the highest number in Bantul Regency (157 cases) and Kasihan II Primary Health Center (6 cases). This study was conducted to determine the support received by moth with unwanted pregnancies at the Kasihan II Bantul Yogyakarta Health Center. A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach was used. Data collection involved purposive sampling, with 5 participants (4 general informants and 1 supporting informant). Data was gathered through in-depth interviews using interview guidelines, a voice recorder, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data validity. The study identified three themes related to unwanted pregnancy is social support during pregnancy. It is recommended that pregnant women seek proper prenatal care, whether the pregnancy was planned or unplanned.
