Abstract

Secara global terjadi peningkatan kejadian obesitas. Obesitas sendiri merupakan permasalahan gizi yang berdampak terhadap permasalahan kesehatan lainnya. Selain berdampak terhadap penyakit metabolik, obesitas juga disinyalir menginisiasi adanya gangguan kekurangan mikronutrien yaitu anemia defisiensi besi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut hubungan antara obesitas dengan kejadian anemia defisiensi besi. Studi review ini menggunakan database PubMed Central, ScienceDirect dan Taylor&Francis menggunakan kata kunci “obesity” or “anemia”, “anemia in obesity”. Didapatkan hasil bahwa individu yang obesitas erat dikaitkan dengan kejadian anemia beserta penanda anemia seperti serum besi, MCV, transferrin dan ferritin.
