Abstract

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) merupakan virus korona yang menyebabkan sindrom pernapasan akut berat yang dikenal sebagai Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Salah satu alternatif yang dapat dimanfaatkan masyarakat dalam menjaga kesehatan dan mendukung penanganan penyakit adalah penggunaan obat herbal. Artikel tinjauan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai jenis obat herbal yang tersedia di Indonesia, manfaat Clitoria ternatea L. (bunga telang), serta aktivitas biologis senyawa-senyawa yang terkandung di dalamnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan, menganalisis, dan mensintesis berbagai hasil penelitian yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Clitoria ternatea L. mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif, antara lain antosianin, ternatin, taraxerol, genistein, steroid, asam fenolat, polifenol, senyawa fenolik, dan flavonoid. Senyawa-senyawa tersebut diketahui memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi dan berpotensi membantu mengatasi proses inflamasi yang berhubungan dengan infeksi COVID-19. Oleh karena itu, Clitoria ternatea L. berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai kandidat terapi pendukung dalam penanganan SARS-CoV-2.
