Jurnal Kolaboratif Sains is committed to maintaining ethical standards and integrity in scholarly publishing. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts responsibly and comply with the journal’s publication ethics throughout the editorial and peer review process.
This Withdrawal Manuscript Policy outlines the conditions, procedures, and responsibilities related to manuscript withdrawal before and after publication.
Manuscript withdrawal refers to the removal of a submitted manuscript from the editorial and publication process before formal publication.
Withdrawal requests may occur:
Before peer review
During peer review
After acceptance but before publication
In exceptional circumstances after publication
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal for legitimate reasons, including:
Significant errors in research data or analysis
Duplicate submission made unintentionally
Ethical concerns identified by the authors
Authorship disputes among contributors
Serious methodological problems
Legal or copyright issues
Withdrawal from publication consideration for valid academic reasons
The journal reserves the right to evaluate the validity of withdrawal requests.
Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript must:
Submit a formal written request to the editorial office
Clearly explain the reason for withdrawal
Include manuscript title and submission identification
Obtain agreement from all co-authors
Withdrawal requests should be submitted by the corresponding author on behalf of all authors.
The editorial office will review the request and provide an official response.
Manuscripts withdrawn before entering the peer review process may generally be withdrawn without penalty.
However, authors are encouraged to notify the editorial office as early as possible to avoid unnecessary editorial processing.
Withdrawal during the peer review process is discouraged because reviewers and editors have already invested time and academic effort in evaluating the manuscript.
Authors requesting withdrawal during peer review must provide reasonable and ethical justification.
The editorial board reserves the right to evaluate whether the withdrawal request is acceptable.
Withdrawal requests after manuscript acceptance are strongly discouraged.
At this stage, the manuscript may already be undergoing:
Copyediting
Layout preparation
Proofreading
DOI registration
Publication scheduling
Withdrawal after acceptance may only be approved under exceptional circumstances involving significant ethical, legal, or scientific concerns.
Once an article has been formally published, withdrawal is generally not permitted.
In cases involving:
Serious scientific errors
Ethical misconduct
Plagiarism
Fabricated data
Legal violations
the journal may instead issue:
Corrections
Retractions
Expressions of concern
in accordance with international publication ethics standards.
The following practices are considered unethical withdrawal behavior:
Requesting withdrawal after extensive peer review without valid reason
Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to another journal
Withdrawing manuscripts to avoid reviewer comments
Failing to communicate with editors during the review process
Unethical withdrawal practices may result in:
Temporary submission restrictions
Notification to affiliated institutions
Rejection of future submissions
Additional editorial actions
The editorial board of Jurnal Kolaboratif Sains reserves the right to:
Reject withdrawal requests lacking valid justification
Continue ethical investigations when necessary
Maintain records of withdrawn manuscripts
Apply publication ethics policies consistently
Editorial decisions regarding manuscript withdrawal are final.
Authors are expected to:
Submit manuscripts responsibly
Ensure originality and ethical compliance
Communicate transparently with editors
Respect the peer review process
Avoid unnecessary withdrawal requests
All co-authors share responsibility for the integrity and management of submitted manuscripts.
Jurnal Kolaboratif Sains is committed to maintaining transparent, fair, and ethical editorial procedures while protecting the integrity of scholarly communication and the academic publication process.
