Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the meaning of place attachment among the residents of Tanggul Rejo and Semangat Baru Villages, Tabunganen District, in the context of inadequate road infrastructure. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design through in-depth interviews with informants who have lived in the area for a long period. The findings reveal that the community demonstrates strong place attachment formed through dimensions of place identity, place dependence, as well as social and cultural relationships. Despite poor road and bridge conditions, residents continue to stay due to strong emotional bonds, life experiences, mutual cooperation values, and cultural identity. These findings emphasize that attachment to place is not solely determined by physical infrastructure, but also by social, emotional, and functional dimensions embedded in rural community life.
