Hubungan High Density Lipoprotein dengan Fatty Liver pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muslim Indonesia yang Mengalami Obesitas
The Relationship Between High-Density Lipoprotein and Fatty Liver in Students of the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia Who Experience Obesity
Abstract
Fatty liver atau Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) merupakan salah satu manifestasi gangguan metabolik yang sering ditemukan pada individu obesitas. Kadar High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) yang rendah diketahui berhubungan dengan gangguan metabolisme lipid dan berpotensi meningkatkan risiko terjadinya perlemakan hati. Mengetahui hubungan kadar High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) dengan kejadian fatty liver pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muslim Indonesia yang mengalami obesitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 33 mahasiswa obesitas yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kadar HDL diperiksa melalui pemeriksaan laboratorium darah, sedangkan status fatty liver ditentukan melalui pemeriksaan ultrasonografi (USG) hati. Analisis hubungan dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi-Square dengan tingkat signifikansi p<0,05. Sebagian besar responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki (60,6%), berada pada kategori obesitas II (54,5%), dan memiliki kadar HDL rendah (48,5%). Kejadian fatty liver ditemukan pada 11 responden (33,3%). Analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kadar HDL dengan kejadian fatty liver (p=0,022). Responden dengan kadar HDL rendah memiliki proporsi fatty liver lebih tinggi (56,3%) dibandingkan responden dengan HDL normal (15,4%), sedangkan tidak ditemukan kasus fatty liver pada responden dengan HDL tinggi. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kadar HDL dengan kejadian fatty liver pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muslim Indonesia yang mengalami obesitas. Kadar HDL yang rendah berhubungan dengan peningkatan risiko terjadinya fatty liver.
ABSTRACT
Fatty liver, or Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), is a metabolic disorder commonly observed among individuals with obesity. Reduced High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels are linked to disturbances in lipid metabolism and may contribute to a higher risk of developing fatty liver. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between HDL levels and the occurrence of fatty liver among obese students at the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. A total of 33 obese students were selected using purposive sampling. HDL levels were measured through blood laboratory examinations, while fatty liver status was assessed using abdominal ultrasound (USG). The association between variables was analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The majority of participants were male (60.6%), classified as obesity class II (54.5%), and had low HDL levels (48.5%). Fatty liver was identified in 11 respondents (33.3%). Bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between HDL levels and fatty liver disease (p = 0.022). Individuals with low HDL levels showed a higher proportion of fatty liver (56.3%) compared to those with normal HDL levels (15.4%), while no cases were observed among participants with high HDL levels. The findings demonstrate a significant association between HDL levels and fatty liver in obese medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia, indicating that lower HDL levels are related to an increased risk of fatty liver disease
