Peer Review Process

The RISMADA Journal (Riset Mahasiswa Indonesia Berkarya) implements a rigorous and transparent peer review process to guarantee the quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of every published manuscript. This journal applies a double-blind review system, meaning that both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Stages of the Peer Review Process

  1. Manuscript Submission

    • Authors must submit manuscripts through the Online Journal System (OJS).

    • The Editorial Team conducts an initial check to ensure completeness of submission files and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

  2. Preliminary Screening

    • Manuscripts are screened for compliance with author guidelines, writing format, language quality, and plagiarism check (similarity index).

    • Submissions that fail at this stage may be rejected outright or returned to authors for technical corrections before further review.

  3. Reviewer Assignment

    • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

    • The review process follows a double-blind principle to ensure fairness and objectivity.

  4. Review Process

    • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria: originality, significance of contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal’s focus, and adherence to publication ethics.

    • Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

      • Accept without revision (Accept as is)

      • Accept with minor revisions (Minor revision)

      • Resubmit with major revisions (Major revision)

      • Reject (Rejected)

  5. Review Report

    • Reviewers submit their evaluation reports to the Editor.

    • The Editor consolidates the recommendations and forwards them to the author(s) with clear instructions for revision if necessary.

  6. Author Revision

    • Authors revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and resubmit within the allotted deadline.

    • Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a response letter detailing how each reviewer’s comment was addressed.

  7. Editorial Decision

    • The Editor re-evaluates the revised manuscript.

    • If necessary, the manuscript may be sent back to reviewers for re-review.

    • The final decision (acceptance or rejection) rests solely with the Editorial Board.

  8. Copyediting and Proofreading

    • Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting to ensure consistency in grammar, style, and journal formatting.

    • Authors may be asked to review and approve the final proofs before publication.

  9. Publication

    • Once finalized, the article is scheduled for publication in the upcoming issue of the journal.

    • Published articles are made available online with open access according to the journal’s policy.

Ethical Review Policy

  • The review process must remain strictly confidential; manuscripts and reviewer reports are not shared beyond the review team.

  • Reviewers are expected to provide objective, evidence-based, and constructive feedback, free from personal bias or conflict of interest.

  • Any form of academic misconduct (plagiarism, data falsification, duplicate submission) will result in rejection and possible sanctions in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
