Medical and Health Journey Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement is based on internationally recognized guidelines, including the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Ethical Principles
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must adhere to ethical standards to ensure the quality and credibility of scientific publications.
Duties of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others’ work must be properly cited.
- Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable
- The similarity index must not exceed 20%
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate or redundant publication is strictly prohibited.
Data Integrity and Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate data and provide sufficient detail to allow replication.
- Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is unethical
- Raw data may be requested by the editorial board
Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to:
- Study conception and design
- Data collection or analysis
- Manuscript drafting or revision
All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their work.
Ethical Approval and Informed Consent
Research involving human participants or animals must include:
- Ethical approval from an appropriate ethics committee
- Informed consent from participants
Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published based on:
- Scientific merit
- Originality
- Relevance to the journal
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on:
- Race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs
Confidentiality
Editors must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial team.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information for personal advantage and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assist editors in making decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, with constructive feedback and without personal criticism.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher ensures that editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial interests and supports the integrity of the academic record.
Plagiarism and Misconduct Handling
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate).
If misconduct is detected, the journal will take appropriate action, including:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction of published articles
- Notification to authors’ institutions
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
The journal will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Data Sharing and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to:
- Share data where possible
- Provide clear methodological details to ensure reproducibility
Ethical Oversight
The journal follows ethical oversight in accordance with international standards and may consult ethical committees when needed.
Complaints and Appeals
