Abstract

Forest management to produce optimal growth of Teak tectona grandis is very necessary, in order to provide optimal and sustainable yields. To support these efforts, it is necessary to manage plantation forests carefully. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of teak forest growth and identify factors that affect the condition of plant growth predominantly, especially factors that can be influenced through management actions. This research was conducted in Oloboju Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency. Teak stands are 10 years old and 25 years old and the research is carried out through the collection of sample data measuring an area of 20m x 20m by seeking an example of the area representing the condition of forest growth in the field. The growth analysis of the teak stand of Tectona grandis uses several equations that can be used such as the richard and exponential models. The results of this study show that the growth of Teak at the research site is relatively low. At the age of 25, Teak only reaches a height of 10.76 m, a diameter of 31.03 cm, a height of 12.75 m, and a base area of 24.36.
